Royal Boskalis Westminster and Allseas Group have been contracted to construct the 24 inch diameter Transmagallanico Gas Pipeline across the Strait of Magellan, Argentina.
The $US249 million contract involves laying an approximately 38 km pipeline between Cape Espiritu Santo and Cape Virgnes.
Enagas has proposed the pipeline to link gas fields in the Austral Basin, located in the south of Argentina, to the country’s main gas network. The pipeline will have a capacity of 18 MMcm/d of gas.
The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2009.
