BJ’s process and pipeline services group carried out cleaning, drying, nitrogen inerting and ethylene commissioning services on an ethylene gas pipeline in the industrial zones of Qatar.
Comprised of a 135 km, 14 inch diameter main line and two shorter, 10 inch branch lines, the pipeline system delivers ethylene gas to end users, where it is converted into various commodities, including polyethylene.
“This was a great opportunity to carry out what we believe is the first ethylene commissioning operation in Qatar,” said BJ Services Process and Pipeline Services General Manager Lindsay Link.
The work was completed over a seven month period, following the award of the contract in April 2009.
