BJ Services Company has completed a pipeline precommissioning services contract for Technip at the MA-D6 oil field development in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin in the Bay of Bengal, offshore Kakinada, India.
Technip awarded BJ Services the contract in January 2008 for a range of services, which were executed in different phases. Hydraulic and electrical testing of both dynamic and infield umbilicals were carried out during pre-installation, installation, overboarding and post-installation phases of the operation.
Pipeline commissioning specialists cleaned, flooded and pressure tested the 8 inch production infield flowlines, as well as the 6 inch gas injection riser.
The MA-D6 oil field is part of the larger KG-D6 oil and gas development that is located in water depths of up to 1,200 m. The pipeline network transports oil and gas from the KG Basin to onshore India for export.
