Wed, 10 March 2010
BJ Services Australia has been awarded a $US80 million dollar contract by Chevron to provide pipeline precommissioning services associated with the construction of the Gorgon LNG Development, located off the coast of Western Australia.
The Gorgon project involves the development of the Jansz and Gorgon fields located approximately 130—200 km off the northwest coast of Western Australia. The project consists of subsea facilities, offshore and onshore pipelines and umbilicals tied back to an LNG processing facility on Barrow Island.
Engineering and planning work commenced in January 2010, and the first mobilisation is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2010.
The Gorgon LNG Development is a joint venture between Chevron as operator, ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric.
