Royal Boskalis Westminster has contracted Keppel Singmarine to construct a new fall pipe vessel to be deployed in its oil and gas offshore projects.
The vessel will have an overall length of 159 m and possess a flexible fall pipe with a remotely operated vehicle at the lower end for better positioning.
Boskalis uses pipe vessels to place rocks in deep water as part of its construction and protection activities for offshore oil and gas pipelines.
Boskalis currently operates two fall pipes and the new vessel is expected to be completed in late 2011.
