Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) will soon commence laying the 1,370 km gas pipeline from Dabhol, Maharashtra, to Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
A GAIL official for the project V H Kalmath has said that the process of land acquisition for the project has commenced.
With a planned gas transmission capacity of 30 MMcm/d, the trunk pipeline will extend from Dabhol and pass through Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag, Bellary, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Bangalore and Ramanagaram.
In June, it was announced that GAIL intends to finish construction of the Dabhol – Bangalore pipeline by March 2012.
