The conference, preceded by two training courses, is to be held from 18–21 October, and will cover a wide range of issues concerning pipeline rehabilitation. Issues will range from the initial stages of evaluation of a pipeline’s condition to the steps required to undertake rehabilitation of the structure to ensure its continued fitness-for-purpose and prolong its economic lifetime.
Getting the best from your pipeline
Industry experts will make presentations on the technical aspects of internal and external inspection, integrity assessment, repair and rehabilitation practices and technologies.
Following a keynote address by Heinz Watzka, Head of Maintenance of E.ON Ruhrgas AG, speakers will address internal issues including black powder and microbial corrosion and external issues including coatings, DCVG, and direct assessment.
Speakers on Day 1 include IKM Ocean Design’s Ronny Hoff, PII Pipeline Solutions’ Paul Clayton, BP ‘s Mark Kelso, and Xodus Group’s Afshin Motarjemi, Robert Condor, and Matt Kirk.
Day 2 will see presentations from MACAW Engineering’s Angus Patterson and Steve Cromwell, Stopaq B.V’s Frits Doddema, and CEPS’ Ing. Aleš Brynych and Dr Ing. Petr Crha.

DNV Columbus’ Director of Welding Technology Bill Bruce will be leading the ‘Pipeline repair methods and in-service welding’ course, which will cover various aspects of pipeline repair using weld and non-weld methods.
Incal Pipeline Rehabiliation’s President Sidney A Taylor will lead the ‘Performing pipeline rehabilitation’ course, which will centre on practical aspects of internal and external pipeline rehabilitation.
