Enbridge plans Waupisoo Pipeline expansion
Wed, 30 June 2010
Enbridge will undertake an approximately $US400 million expansion of the Waupisoo Pipeline, which ships oilsands crude to terminals in Edmonton, Canada, to accommodate additional shipper commitments made in 2010.
The company has entered shipper agreements totalling an additional 229,000 bbl/d of capacity on the Waupisoo Pipeline, part of Enbridge’s Regional Oil Sands System.
The upgrades will be made over three years on the pipeline, which stretches 380 km from the Cheecham terminal in Northern Alberta to the Edmonton mainline terminal.
The Waupisoo Pipeline expansion program will provide approximately 65,000 bbl/d of additional capacity in the second half of 2012 and a further approximately 190,000 bbl/d when fully in service in the second half of 2013.
