Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has postponed the bid deadline for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract worth an estimated $US100 million for a major new oil pipeline, according to local media sources.
The winning bidder will construct a series of high pressure, 30 inch diameter pipelines for KOC’s facilities in the Jurassic field in the country’s north.
The companies prequalified to bid for the contract are include: Al-Khadda International General Trading and Contracting Company, Al-Meer Engineering and Construction Company, Consolidated Contractors Company, Gulf Spic, and Arabi Enertech.
Bids for the EPC contract were originally due in by 29 December 2009. Reasons for the extension of the bidding period have not been disclosed.
