The Nairobi – Eldoret Pipeline will be completed in 18 months according to Kenya Pipeline Company Chief Manager Technical Engineer Elias Karum.
KPC has awarded the contracts for the construction of its 325 km multiproduct Nairobi – Eldoret Oil Pipeline to China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering.
KPC Managing Director Selest Kilinda said that construction work on the pipeline has begun and that a committee to spearhead the construction process has been formed.
The new pipeline will have an initial capacity of 7.5 MMbbl/d of oil, which will be increased to 12.7 MMbbl/d of oil when the project is complete.
