Novatek has completed and commissioned an unstable gas condensate de-ethanisation unit at its Yurkharovskoye Field as well as the 326 km unstable gas condensate pipeline connecting the field with the company’s wholly-owned Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant in Russia.
An unstable gas is a gas or a vapour liable to transform itself spontaneously, producing a sudden pressure increase.
The construction of the unstable gas condensate de-ethanisation unit and pipeline will allow Novatek to de-ethanise and transport up to 3 MMt/a of unstable gas condensate from the Yurkharovskoye Field, and enable the company to increase annual gas condensate production.
The pipeline was completed by incorporating solar and wind power generation units to provide the necessary electricity to operate the pipeline’s tele-mechanic system and valves, instead of using a fixed electrical line.
