Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract by PetroChina to provide gas turbine compressor systems for the third Shaanxi – Beijing Gas Pipeline Project.
As outlined in the agreement, Rolls-Royce will supply three RB211 units for the pipeline project, which is being built to expand the Chinese gas supply network that delivers gas from Western China to Beijing.
The three RB211-powered gas compressor packages will be installed at the pipeline’s first compressor station building, located in Yulin, Shaanxi Province.
Covering a total distance of 820 km, the third Shaanxi – Beijing Gas Pipeline will cross three provinces before terminating in Beijing. The new pipeline will have a transmission capacity of 15.5 Bcm/a of natural gas when completed.
