The first 100 km of the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok Pipeline System has been constructed in Russia’s Primorsky Territory.
The pipeline will cover of a total distance of 561 km in the region.
The overall project is being constructed in phases. The first will involve the construction of 1,350 km of pipeline, which will have a capacity of 6 Bcm/a. The second phase will extend the pipeline length to approximately 1,800 km and the pipeline capacity to 30 Bcm/a.
The system will supply gas to consumers of the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krais, the Jewish Autonomous Oblast and the Sakhalin Oblast. The gas will be sourced from Sakhalin I project in the mid-term.
Gazprom aims for the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok pipeline system to deliver first gas by 2011.
