The 179 km, 38 inch diameter pipeline has a transportation capacity of 40 MMcm/d of gas and can transport gas produced from a variety of locations – including the Campos and Espirito Santo basins, gas imported from Bolivia, and gas from the Guanabara Bay LNG regasification terminal – to southeastern Brazil.

The trunkline cuts through eight Rio de Janeiro municipalities and the pipeline interconnects with the Japeri-Reduc, Reduc-Volta Redonda, and the Reduc-Belo Horizonte gas pipelines.

The Campos Eliseos Compression Station, with a capacity for 25 MMcm/d of gas was built in the city of Duque de Caxias at one end of the Cabiunas-Reduc III pipeline, while compression was increased at the existing Cabiunas Terminal, located in Macae.
