South Sudan provides updates on new pipeline developments

South Sudanese Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin has provided updates in a media briefing on the proposed pipeline infrastructure in his country.
Dr Marial said that the Japanese Toyota company has started feasibility studies for the Lamu oil pipeline project, for which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between South Sudan and the Republic of Kenya. He said that the South Sudanese Government has spoken with a pipeline construction company from Texas, which would be ready to construct the pipeline in six months’ time.

Dr Marial also said that the South Sudanese Government has signed another MoU with Ethiopia to construct an oil pipeline to Djibouti to facilitate oil exports from the landlocked country.
