It will link Dolphin Energy's gas-receiving facilities at Taweelah, on the coast of Abu Dhabi, with the ADWEA power and water desalination plant at Qidfa, in Fujairah. Bids for the TFP design-and-build project are due for submission by 31 January, and the award is likely to be made during next summer, with site work expected to begin during third quarter 2008. Nine contracting companies are understood to have been invited to bid: Al Jaber Energy, UAE; Consolidated Contractors Company, Greece; CPECC, China; Dodsal, India; Petrojet, Egypt; Snamprogetti, Italy; STG, Russia; Techint, Saudi Arabia; and Technip, Germany. Dolphin Energy currently supplies the Qidfa plant with up to 135m cuft/d of gas per day via the Al Ain-Fujairah pipeline, which the company commissioned in January, 2004.
UAE: tenders invited for Taweelah-Fujairah project
Dolphin Energy Ltd has issued an invitation to tender and accompanying documents for the design and construction of the Taweelah to Fujairah gas pipeline (TFP). The 240-km long pipeline will be 48in in diameter, and will be one of the longest and largest overland pipelines in the UAE.
