Petrobras extends Fugro contract
Fugro has been awarded a contract extension by Petrobas for pipeline inspection services in Brazil.
The extension follows the completion of a 12-month contract for, after the support vessel Fugro Aquarius was deployed in February 2016.
The 83 m long subsea vessel, which has a 520 m2 deck, is equipped with two remotely operated vehicles (ROV) that can operate in water depths of up to 3,000 m.
“As industry leader in ROV IRM, Fugro provides worldwide subsea inspection services in water depths up to 4,000 metres,” said Fugro Manager for Marine Business in Brazil Andrew Seymour.
“This new contract strengthens our position in the Brazilian market, despite the challenging market conditions, and reinforces our ability to provide these services to clients such as Petrobras.”
Operations commenced in May this year.
