MMT expands its offshore operations
MMT has introduced two initiatives in 2017 – chartering a new vessel and investing in a second remotely operated vehicle (ROV) – to expand its offshore business.
To meet increased customer demand, MMT has engaged in a long-term contract with Olympic Subsea ASA, chartering the dynamic positioning (DP) 2 survey and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) vessel Olympic Delta.
Its new vessel is one of the most advanced ships in its segment – both modern and environmentally friendly – and will completely its first project in Biscay, a gulf of the northeast Atlantic Ocean.
The ROV, a Surveyor Interceptor, is an investment MMT’s partner Reach Subsea; the ROV will increase its capacity to provide survey and inspection services to customers.
“This is an important milestone for MMT. With these new platforms we will maintain our position as the technical forefront marine survey company for the offshore industry,” said MMT CEO Stefan Eliasson.
