NDT Global achieves DNV GL quality system certification
NDT Global has achieved DNV GL quality system certification for its first run success rate and on time reporting figures’ management.
It is the first pipeline inspection and data analysis service supplier to have its key performance indicators (KPIs) independently verified.
Meeting first run success and report timeliness KPIs gives pipeline operators confidence that they will obtain data needed to mitigate asset risks in a predictable manner; this certification provides insight into NDT Global’s performance ability, and allows operators to better plan integrity programs.
“Data transparency helps the industry to plan their integrity programs based on accurate performance data and enables organisations to advance the safety and sustainability of their business,” DNV GL Sales and Project Manager Product Certification Holger Bender said.
The inline inspection (ILI) first run success rate is a KPI used to measure overall ILI operational performance.
From an operator’s perspective, the importance of a high ILI first run success rate is that it significantly reduces the operational risks of delays in obtaining the integrity data needed.
On time reporting refers to the delivery of reports against agreed timelines, and enables operators to manage internal timelines with confidence and deliver data to regulators as needed.
Using appropriate methods, DNV GL independently assessed NDT Global’s KPI values for compliance with the requirements of its specifications.
The assessment conducted by DNV GL included:
- Validation of historic data provided by NDT Global through spot-checking
- Assessment of KPI determination processes applied by NDT Global on actual data
- Independent determination of KPI values based on provided historic data.
NDT Global achieved an ultrasonic first run success rate of 91 per cent, and an on time reporting figure of 98 per cent, underlining its commitment to delivering operators the best information on time and enhancing the efficiency of integrity management programs.
The results of DNV GL’s verification for 2014, 2015 and 2016 are now available on the NDT Global website.
